B.Tech: Eligibility Criteria
To appear in the examination, candidates first know the eligibility criteria for that exam. The basic eligibility criteria to get admission into B.Tech programme are mentioned here:
  • Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e., the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application /Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or concerned State Government.

B.Tech: Admission Procedure
To get admission into undergraduate engineering courses in West Bengal, candidates will have to pass the national & state level examinations. Candidates should apply for these exams separately.
On the basis these exam scores, candidates will get admission any of the institutions/colleges located in West Bengal. After qualifying these examinations, candidates will have to appear in the counselling procedure.

B.Tech: Entrance Exams
The examinations through which candidates can get admission to the B.Tech Programme are JEE Main (national level exam) & WBJEE (state level examination). JEE Main is managed by the NTA Board for providing admission to the B.Tech & B.Arch Courses.

B.Tech: Selection Procedure
After passing the entrance examination, qualified candidates will have to apply to the counselling process. Candidates should apply for the counselling through online mode from the website. Candidates also have to submit the counselling fee during registration.
Candidates will also have to fill choices of institutions & branches as per their preferences. Fill the maximum number of choices of colleges/streams. The seat will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, filled choices, category, availability of seats, etc. Candidates, those get a seat they have to report to the allotted college in a given time period.

MTech: Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates must have passed their bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline.
  • Candidates should have passed their graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.75 CGPA.

MTech: Selection Criteria
  • Selection to the program is based on the scores of the PGET or GATE entrance exam.
  • Candidates are then required to appear for the CCMT or counseling conducted by the university.
  • Candidates with valid GATE score will be given proportionate weightage of the GATE score.
  • Candidates who have appeared / due to appear at the qualifying examinations (BE / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / AMIE Sec A. & B. / AMIIM / AMIETE etc or equivalent) may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted if they submit valid proof of their passing the qualifying examination with required percentage of marks at the time of admission.)

MCA: Eligibility Criteria
  • Passed BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering Degree.
    OR
  • Passed B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. with Mathematics at ‘10+2’ Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University) obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the Qualifying Examination.

MCA: Selection Criteria
  • Selection to the MCA program is based on the scores of WB JECA entrance exam and Counselling (Rank Card).

BCA: Eligibility Criteria
  • Passed the Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational Stream under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination / Undergraduate Programs as prescribed from a recognized Board / University, respectively are eligible to apply.

BCA: Selection Criteria
  • Selection to the program is based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in CET exam.
  • Candidates may then appear in the counselling on the dates specified by the college.

BBA: Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidate must have passed his/her 10+2 in any stream from any recognized board of education and must be CET exam qualified.

MBA: Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates must have completed their bachelor degree in any field and stream via full time and must be JEMAT exam qualified.
