Information Technology department has mission to provide high quality education in undergraduate level based on the excellence of our research. The students are encouraged to participate in different challenging project works, seminar on recent trends in software industry and they are also encouraged to do research work. The challenge of this department is to make students industry ready by providing guidance about the industry expectations and preparations required to meet it. Education in IT department of NSEC is memorable, besides usual curricular activities students are exposed to several inter-disciplinary programmers through seminars, group discussion and interactive sessions. Department encourages all faculty members in research activities such that innovative thinking and new ideas are being produced for creating brilliant academic environment.

For providing guidance, counselling and psychological boost-up to the student, there is a faculty mentor system in the department. Four faculty members of this department have Ph.D degree with more than 200 international research papers. Few international research papers have been published with present students as co-author. The no of students that we admit for B. Tech. degree in Information Technology -90. The department is one of the very few Engineering Colleges in the Private Sector in the Eastern Region. The prime Software Organization of the country TCS has also accredited the department.

Prime Organizations like IT companies TCS, INFOSYS, MINDTREE, L & T INFOTECH, I GATE, IBM (GTS), MPHASIS-HP, PERSISTENT, ZYCUSGEO-TECH, PCS GLOBAL, Stratbeans Consulting Engg, NEC TECHNOLOGIES, INNOFIED, JOHNSON CONTROL, IBM (GBS), AKASH INSTITUTE, LABVANTAGE, MICROLAND, INFRASOFT TECHNOLOGIES, IBS SOFTWARE SERVICES PVT. LTD, WIPRO BPS, DELGENCE TECHNOLOGIES, AMDOCS, MPHASIS-HP, AMAZON INDIA, WIPRO, ACCENTURE, SSASKEN etc. recruit students through campus interviews every year and in average more than 70% of the students are placed by the time they pass out.
