Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a highly demanded interdisciplinary and emerging field today. It lies at the cross-section of Medicine, Biological Science and Engineering. This exciting engineering program bridges the gap between Medical sciences and Engineering. Biomedical engineers combine engineering principles with medical and biological sciences and provide technological solutions to the medical field. They design, innovate and create equipment, devices, smart healthcare systems and many other health-related accessories that make our lives more comfortable and simpler. Without sophisticated medical devices or systems, it is impossible to provide quality treatment to the patients in the health care unit. Biomedical Engineering (BME) is an extremely broad field with many opportunities for specialization or customized applications, directly linked to the healthcare industry and institutions. The job market also witnesses exponential growth in this arena.

Biomedical Engineering Program at Netaji Subhash Engineering College (NSEC) [AICTE approved, MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT) is an NBA accredited full-time 4 years B. Tech program, which is approved by AICTE, India and affiliated with MAKAUT, WB. This program started in the year 2003 for the first time in the eastern region of India with an intake of 30 students.
